Job Description

: Analyze, evaluate, underwrite, and assist in structuring and closing potential real estate asset based portfolio lending opportunities. Focus on valuation, financial analysis, modeling, research, site due diligence, and credit application preparation. Work closely on new transactions with Investment Officers. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions) *
  • Evaluating transaction requests to determine quality of opportunity and potential loan structure to maximize return on investment *
  • Performing valuation of underlying real estate assets *
  • Identifying specific merits, risks, and mitigants for each transaction *
  • Constructing and maintaining detailed portfolio based financial models and developing sensitivity analyses around key economic drivers *
  • Generating internal approval memoranda and drafting term sheets *
  • Performing industry, company and market financial research and due diligence *
  • Travel required to various locations throughout the United States to perform site due diligence *
  • Supporting legal documentation and execution of new transactions *
  • Assisting in all aspects of origination activity leading to closing of new transactions
Education and Experience *
  • 3-5 years of total experience preferred (2-3 years required) in the Financial Service Sector with a focus on real estate (appraisal, private equity, specialty finance, real estate finance, mezzanine firm, or investment bank) *
  • Experience with real estate valuation and modeling *
  • Evaluating a property's historical and projected financial cash flows
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities *
  • Strong analytical skills including ability to: value underlying real estate assets, perform cash flow analysis as well as in-depth real estate industry and market analysis *
  • Ability to adapt to multiple real estate asset-based lending opportunities including performing and non-performing assets *
  • Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency required *
  • Superior interpersonal skills. Experience with senior management and sophisticated financial sponsors a must *
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
