In our Intellectual Property practice, we bring analytical rigor and objectivity to all types of IP issues, whether in the context of high-stakes disputes, transactions, valuations or compliance matters. In the dispute context, CRA is hired to quantify and provide independent, expert testimony on damages in patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright infringement matters. CRA is also hired to perform valuations of IP for the purpose of mergers and acquisitions, licensing negotiations, or tax reasons or to evaluate strategic business decisions as they relate to a client’s intellectual property holdings.

What does an Associate do?
Associates at CRA work closely with senior consultants on a variety of client engagements across industries. You need a solid working knowledge of financial and economic concepts and a broad range of quantitative and research skills. Responsibilities include:
• Building complex models to analyze financial and economic data using spreadsheets and databases
• Conducting industry, market and competitor research to develop an independent fact base
• Reviewing and summarizing client documents, analyst reports, and third party financial and industry data to identify key information
• Performing interview-based research with client representatives, government entities, and industry associations
• Assisting in the creation and development of client deliverables including financial analyses, research summaries, and expert reports
• Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of analyses
• Assisting with recruiting and training efforts

As most of our work is done in the office, little to no travel is required in the IP practice.

We seek candidates who have 1 to 3 years of finance or accounting work experience and who majored in finance, accounting, or business economics with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Individuals in the consulting or financial services fields are encouraged to apply.
