Responsibilities: Research and analysis of investment and hedging strategies. Design hedging portfolios using bonds and derivatives to offset liability risks. Evaluate relative value opportunities across fixed income markets. Evaluate derivative strategies for asset allocation, hedging growth assets (e.g. equities), and transitions. Trade fixed income securities and derivatives. Implement, monitor, and rebalance investment and hedging strategies. Monitoring of counterparty risk exposures. Development of portfolio monitoring and performance measurement tools within a risk management framework. Communicate frequently with clients to educate them on investment and hedging strategies, and provide an update on performance of strategies
Supervisory duties: Supervise two Analysts
Skills: Knowledge of economics, statistics, accounting, portfolio management, risk management is required. Knowledge of pricing and functioning of various securities and derivatives (options, swaps, futures, forwards) is needed. Expert knowledge of financial markets and direct investment experience in fixed income is required. Experience in understanding nature and requirements of pension plans assets and liabilities, is necessary. Strong quantitative skills, Strong excel and programming skills (Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)).
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance (or foreign equivalent) or a related field and 2 years in job offered or a related field. *Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
40 hours per week / $125,000 per year
