Position Description – Senior Associate
Wilshire's Consulting Division is seeking applicants for a Senior Associate that would work on an established risk management consulting team, based at the company headquarters in Santa Monica, CA. The job involves modeling and reconciliation of portfolios, computation of portfolio analytics, and generation of custom reports and analysis of portfolio risk, as well as broader client projects that will involve quantitative analysis and interpretation. Prospective candidates should have relevant experience and interest in finance and economics.
Work with risk management team, clients and client portfolio managers to establish data management and analytical report production processes
Interfacing with Clients directly to assist in development of risk management framework (some travel required)
Communicating complex quantitative concepts to clients and third parties
Load, model and reconcile portfolios within Wilshire’s analytics systems
Help prepare, analyze and deliver monthly client risk, attribution, and other general analytical reports
Assist with research projects using Wilshire analytics tools
Assist with investment structure analysis and manager research activity
Support in-depth analyses for plan and asset class level restructuring and rebalancing
MS in mathematics, statistics, engineering, finance or other quantitative fields required. Interfacing with Clients directly to assist in development of risk management framework (some travel required)
Advanced degree (Ph.D) in mathematics, statistics, engineering, finance or other quantitative fields preferred.
2-4 years of professional experience preferred (depending upon degree level).
Solid work habits, including creative and technical/engineering problem-solving skills, and an ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines
Advanced Excel Skills with VBA experience
Clear communication skills
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Databases
Experience with Matlab
CFA Charter holder
