NOTICE OF FACULTY VACANCY IN ART EDUCATION
The Lamar Dodd School of Art at The University of Georgia invites applications for the position of Associate/Full Professor on the art education faculty. Specialization in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: teacher education; community arts; visual culture; new technologies; studio practice; educational policy; arts-based research; and/or museum education. Our goal is to hire a seasoned and successful teacher, eager to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as an established scholar with considerable experience guiding doctoral students. Other responsibilities will include undergraduate advising; service to the university and community; and participation in professional activities in the art education area consistent with departmental expectations.
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Art Education, demonstrated excellence in teaching in higher education, an established publication record in nationally/internationally recognized forums, experience in and knowledge of K-12 teaching, and ongoing participation in professional art education organizations at the state and national levels.
This position will be available August 2014. The committee will begin to review applications on February 15, 2014 and will continue until the position is filled.
