The Walt Disney Studios is seeking a Assortment Planning Manager. This position is in Burbank, CA.
The Assortment Planning Manager will be responsible for maximizing profit through the optimization of title and site assortments.
Recommend, implement and manage proprietary assortments and programs o Disney Boutiques, Stores and Home Page on-site sections o Other WDSD proprietary themed programs/initiatives o Manage on-site placement of catalog and promotional sale events and x-studio initiatives, POS / TPR rebate evaluation, and Gap analysis reporting o Perform detailed analysis into promotional performance with immediate assessments with program adjustments during promotion or at conclusion. The dynamic analytical effect on everyday site and promotional placement is the key factor for Amazon, unlike a brick & mortar retailer Optimize site-level New Release customer demand and presell campaigns Secure optimal title placement/assortments through proactive management of weekly site maintenance o Ensure optimal on-site placement and face-out title listing for New Releases o Optimal cross-promotion of New Releases and related page sites, recommend key Recent Release and Best Sellers for site placement and BXGY programs o Leverage buddy title placement where appropriate Direct, manage and execute all Catalog site maintenance on all relevant pages o Drive placement of New Release and Catalog titles into permanent site space and recommend key site placement within Site Stripes, Roto Ads, and Hero Feature Spots - Key reprices - WDSD initiatives - Buddy and opportunity titles - Special sections (Hispanic, Seasonal, Store of the Community) o Implement regional, ethnic and volume placement of titles where appropriate to extend on-site life Develop incremental assortment opportunities to extend product site life and deliver enhanced profit Recommend and implement assortments for ad, promotional and seasonal programs (non-ASAP) Conduct assortment analysis to identify category opportunities and gaps o Space to sales/profitability o Utilize Nielsen or other industry data o Utilize Amazon Vendor Central Sales Data o Utilize Amazon Sales Scorecard Data o Store and regional performance analysis o Align planograms and product assortmen
Bachelor’s Degree required 3–5 years experience in Retail Merchandise Planning, Assortment Planning, Category Management or equivalent Strong Database application experience Prior experience working directly with account, preferably in a Sales/Support capacity Strong Excel skill required Ability to work well in a team environment and have a demonstrated ability to operate at all levels within a retail organization Ability to prepare reports, analyze data and effectively speak to sales results, business metrics and opportunities Excellent analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct project and ad hoc research and provide recommendations CPG Industry experience preferred E-Commerce experience preferred
