The Assistant Media Strategist assists in the development of media plans and with the day-to-day management of their assigned account(s). They assist in all facets of the media process, from plan development to implementation, billing, and ongoing results analysis.

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of media plans
  • Facilitating the gathering and organizing of media rate and research information required to develop media strategies
  • Interacting with sales representatives in the evaluation of potential media vehicles
  • Completing the necessary functions in Media system, including but not limited to: issuing estimate numbers, goals, insertion orders, purchase orders, change orders; maintaining cross-reference list and billing related information
  • Issuing and proofing Traffic matrices and working closely with Traffic dept in the event of changes
  • Assisting in the monitoring of campaign media results by compiling results data and updating reports on an ongoing basis
  • Completing the ATB (Authorization to Buy) forms in accordance with the approved plan

  • Updating schedules and flowcharts
  • Collecting and reviewing tear-sheets, checking copies, samples, and monitoring/analyzing ad positioning
  • Assisting in the development of competitive analyses, including the gathering of competitive data and incorporating the data into comprehensive charts
  • Working with finance to develop pre-bills and reconciliations and getting these documents to clients
  • Writing conference reports, documenting Agency/client interaction and decisions
  • Assist in the research and resolution of invoice discrepancies, escalating to suupervisors when necessary
  • Remaining up-to-date on client/competition/agency/industry business through trade publications, newspaper articles, textbooks, literature, and other sources

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Internship experience in advertising/media space a plus
  • Strong mathematical skills: comfortable with numbers and analyzing data
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite, particularly in Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task while demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to collaborate well with staff, clients, and vendors at all levels
  • A fire in the belly, with the desire to learn and grow
