Job Summary/Basic Function

Provides leadership for the College's academic assessment activities: monitors assessment practice, analyzes assessment results, and communicates assessment findings to curriculum committees and other internal and external constituents. Provides leadership and coordination to the development, monitoring, updating and communication of College academic policy, and provides assistance to the campuses in the application of academic policy. Coordinates the academic program review process. Represents the College with external agencies as appropriate.

Duties/Responsibilities

Provides leadership, coordination, and statewide oversight for the evaluation of student outcomes in general education, and communicates statewide findings. Provides leadership and statewide oversight for the evaluation of students' achievement of program-specific learning outcomes, and communicates statewide results and trends. Provides leadership and staff support for program review process and student evaluation of instruction, and other measures of effectiveness. Provides leadership and coordination to the development, monitoring, updating, and communication of College academic policy. Leads the statewide assessment committee. Reviews academic policy for currency and creates language for new policies. Provides college-wide oversight over Prior Learning Assessment. Works with internal and external interest groups to align academic policy and practice with the College mission, goals, and strategic plan, higher education standards, and state and federal requirements. Provides leadership, coordination, and statewide oversight for Lilly grant-sustained and other adjunct faculty initiatives. Provides support for other academic initiatives, and works with academic committees as appropriate. Provides staff support for regional academic officers, regional student affairs officers, assessment groups, and state trustee committees as designated. Duties/Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree required. Substantial post-secondary experience and knowledge of curriculum and academic assessment and policy is required. Excellent oral and written communications are required. Must have an ability and willingness to travel.

Preferred Qualifications

A doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred.
