Primary Purpose: To assist management in supervising the diving operations for the Aquarium Department and oversee training of new dive staff .
Must be at least 18 years old; High school diploma or equivalent required
Must have a minimum of one (1) year park leadership experience with no significant performance deficiencies within that period or equivalent external experience.
Must be SCUBA certified; Must be able to pass SeaWorld pre-employment swim/dive test and diving physical.
Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a SEA drivers license
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform job duties/task and meet the minimum qualifications of the positions within the scope of supervision.
Must possess basic computer/Window’s software knowledge.
Must have basic math skills
Must have a working knowledge of the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time in extreme weather conditions.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays.
Consistently practices safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Department representative on the Dive Control Board and assist Dive Safety Officer in their absence.
Assist with interview and hiring process for new divers
Maintain the cleanliness and minor maintenance of animal habitat and exhibit areas
Responsible for managing multiple outlets within a division
Must be able to perform job duties/tasks of positions within scope of supervision and willing to perform tasks when business levels require
Establishes and maintains a positive atmosphere which ensures the highest level of team member performance and guest service while enforcing and complying with safety procedures and guidelines
Responsible for managing team member performance ensuring appropriate team member training, providing formal and informal feedback on performance, and making recommendations related to progressive discipline.
