Summary of Position:
To assist in managing and evaluating operational, fiscal, and revenue producing operations for Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and related areas to ensure department, University, conferences, NCAA, state and federal guidelines are adhered to and expenses fall within budgetary constraints and fiscal accountability is maintained; responsibly direct and oversee equipment division; assist with directing construction projects; serve as signature authority for all departmental expenditures and reimbursements.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; minimum five years' experience in business, finance, or related field; minimum five years' experience utilizing computerized accounting software; minimum five years' managerial experience; demonstrated experience in managing construction/renovation projects and related facility maintenance; excellent written and oral communication skills; will be required to work evenings and weekends.

Job Duties



Prepare, review, and analyze departmental budget and appropriate restricted (fund raising) accounts. Maintain account records, monitor expenditures, review income and expenses, and prepare appropriate reports; maintain and analyzes historical financial data.

Monitor travel plans and all purchases proposed by coaches to ensure appropriate funding; discuss concerns with coaches and coach's supervising administrator;

Recommend authorization of all departmental contracts involving financial considerations; assist in ensuring financial accountability.

Authorize and review student-athlete insurance claims and injury expense payments.

Prepares interim and final income and expense reports for Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Completes NCAA financial reports and provides financial detail for NCAA compliance, accreditation, and championship events. Documents departmental gender equity fiscal strategy. Certifies fiscal reports mandated by federal regulations, auditing, and various associations. Verifies NCAA and various other university, governmental, etc. rules are followed.

Serves as liaison to all on-campus and off campus business related offices (e.g. General Accounting, Budget, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, vendors, conference staff members, etc.) Serve as primary contact for on-campus services (e.g. telephone, mail, supplies). Resolve conflicts and assure smooth flow of paperwork through various areas involved.

Assist with construction project developments from beginning to end; assist with draft and submission of both scope of project and budget proposals to administration; estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals; effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion; manage project budget; monitor and address needs for facility maintenance and upgrades.

Develop and recommend departmental policy and procedure.

Authorize hiring of all departmental student employees.

Supervise, interview, evaluate, and appoint support staff for business operations and equipment room areas; assigns and reviews work of employees.

Manage, update, and purchase all items related to department's technology needs. Responsible for inventory and ensuring that department is up to date with all software and hardware.

Assist in facility related items as assigned.

Functional supervision of equipment room staff and all functions of equipment room

Comply with all NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.

Assist with organization of athletic events. Participates in public relations and

community service activities inherent with position.

Participate on various University, conference, and national committees, and other special assignments.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Administrative and functional supervision is exercised over two professional staff and student employees.

REPORTS TO: Manager of Athletic Facilities and Programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform light work.
