Job Overview:

The position of Audible Studios Merchandising Manager is responsible for the sales and promotions of audiobooks from Audible Studios, Audible’s publishing arm. The world’s leading audiobooks publisher, Audible Studios was nominated for a record 37 Audie Awards and a Grammy in 2012. The Manager will be a key driver of its future growth and success. This high-profile role requires extensive experience in merchandising and consumer marketing, leading new product launches, managing a large product pipeline, and leading cross-functional initiatives. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate a highly creative mind, a sound business sense, and a knack for getting things done.

Key Accountabilities:
· Manage the publishing schedule for a full slate of Audible Studios releases and assist in shaping the identity of the Audible Studios brand
· Understand the key selling points for books and/or groups of books and draft positioning, direction, and accompanying copy for all on-site promotions and consumer emails, maintaining standards and creativity of Audible’s Editorial Voice
· Create innovative new promotional concepts that:
o Turn high-potential titles into big hits
o Provide exposure for niche titles
o Resurface an extensive catalog of backlist titles
· Think programmatically, so that promotional concepts can be applied not just to one book, but many, and have maximum impact on business as a whole
· Create compelling landing pages, emails, and other promotional elements at Audible.com and that can be leveraged in other Audible storefronts (UK, Germany, France, mobile) to drive sales of Audible Studios titles
· Conceive and oversee the production of collateral promotional content (audio and video)
· Collaborate with other Merchandisers to secure placement of Audible Studios titles in their promotions
· Leverage and analyze data (sales, site traffic, etc) to drive and inform all decisions
· Track and record all promotional efforts and communicate results to key stakeholders
· Work with other internal teams to ensure titles arrive in-store on time and with appropriate metadata
Basic Qualifications
·
Background in marketing or online merchandising experience
· Proven written communication skills, in addition to strong verbal communications
· Self-starter, creative thinker, and quick learner
· Solid MS office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to grasp proprietary tools and systems
· Analytical ability
· Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications
·
Background in trade or consumer publishing or online retail
· Some familiarity with HTML/XML
· MS/MA degree
