Position Summary
Provides a wide range of audiological services under the supervision on a certified, licensed Audiologist

Position Duties

Performs audiological evaluations and screenings with appropriate supervision
  • Reviews medical record for pertinent information prior to every evaluation
  • Interviews parent/caregiver to obtain relevant history prior to each evaluation to determine developmentally appropriate protocol
  • Utilizes Cross-Check Principle with each patient to make a reliable and valid judgment
  • Seeks assistance from other staff as appropriate to enhance evaluation integrity and completeness

Assists in the selection, verification and management of amplification needs for identified patients with appropriate supervision
  • Pre-selects appropriate device(s) and ear molds based on audiometric configuration, patient's listening environment and level of functioning
  • Uses appropriate manufacturer software in pre-selection and programming stages of the fitting process
  • Confirms selection through functional and objective measures
  • Assists with the Hearing Aid/ALD Loaner Bank as assigned
  • Documents and routes repairs to appropriate manufacturer

Generates appropriate documents for recordkeeping, reporting and referrals with appropriate supervision
  • Completes the summary section of the audiogram on the date of service, obtains a supervisor's signature and appropriately routes to the Medical Record
  • Completes documentation and entries regarding patients in electronic databases and software including those for scheduling (e.g. Dashboard) and for amplification fitting (e.g. Noah)
  • Completes and routes charge sheets, follow up forms and patient education forms as directed

Special projects
  • Completes duties as assigned relative to the following departmental projects: EARS; Infant Hearing Screening, HOP/outreach screening; amplification/calibration repairs/maintenance
  • Completes other duties as assigned by the Director or her designee

Position Qualifications

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university Field of Study: Audiology Note: Enrolled in a graduate program in Audiology

Skill Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communiation skills

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks
