Under general supervision of an experienced Auditor, assists primarily with compliance audits and tests the effectiveness of internal controls. The Auditor I IT identifies the existence of gaps in internal controls.
Assists with a variety of clearly defined and specified routine audits in accordance with audit programs through the application of established policies and procedures.
Attends kickoff conference.
Learns fundamental audit techniques to document internal controls (i.e. interviews, observing, flow charting, compliance and substantive testing).
Identifies that changes or new information has arisen in the audit process and seeks guidance from supervisors regarding how to address these changes.
Identifies audit concerns, and effectively communicates, as identified, to audit team.
Assists in preparation of audit findings, from templates, for compliance reviews.
Attends closing conference.
Adheres to detailed project timelines.
Basic Qualifications & Interests
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS or Computer Science.
Awareness of IT and audit principles and ISACA.
Knowledge of statistical sampling procedures.
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
Knowledge of Oracle, SQL, UNIX, AS400 or Mainframe.
Willing to travel up to 15% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications & Interests
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Master's degree.
