San Manuel Band of Mission Indians is in need of an Auditor I. Under the direction of the Audit Supervisor, the Auditor I will plan and execute internal audits on various departments throughout the Casino gaming operation. The Auditor I summarizes audit findings and offers preliminary recommendations. In addition, the Auditor I will also be responsible for compiling data and preparing formal audit reports substantiating their findings.

Responsibilities:
  • Plans, identifies and executes internal operational audits to identify risks within the Casino gaming organization
  • Completes interviews and observations with key personnel throughout the organization during the auditing process
  • Researches and reviews the function to be audited; utilizes business knowledge, analytical skills and work experience to identify control risks
  • Reviews internal controls, transactions, documents, records and reports
  • Performs risk assessments to identify internal control weaknesses
  • Prepares accurate, logical and detailed work-papers clearly describing the scope of work performed, testing results and conclusions
  • Writes audit reports for distribution to management identifying concise recommendations and issue resolution
  • Collaborates and works in concert with outside auditors, investigators and law enforcement
  • Analyzes and identifies measures to ensure proper security of tribal assets
  • Conducts follow-ups on audit findings
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Completion of some college course work in a related field; or a minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience necessary
  • Bachelors Degree in business related field highly preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required
  • Intermediate Internet research skills mandatory
  • Working knowledge of the audit process including, but not limited to; interviews, observations, documentation review, work papers and reporting necessary
  • Related experience in regulating, auditing or accounting preferred
  • Knowledge of the “International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing” is beneficial
  • Professional certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) a plus
  • Employee must have experience demonstrating the utmost discretion as they will have access to private information such as Social Security Numbers, credit cards, personal data or financial data from colleagues, personnel or customers
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class “A” Gaming License issued by the San Manuel Gaming Commission
  • A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier
