Job Summary

The Unclaimed Property Auditor will be part of an audit team responsible for conducting examinations of large U.S. companies to determine compliance with the States’ unclaimed property statutes. The Auditor will have a role in each stage of the audit process including, but not limited to, the following:

Ø Perform independent research on public and private companies;

Ø Review and document internal controls policies and procedures;

Ø Analyze accounting records in order to quantify unclaimed property reportable to the states;

Ø Prepare written reports and documents for management;

Ø Participate in presentations of audit findings to client States; and

Ø Work paper preparation and file maintenance.

Required Experience

Ø Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration strongly preferred;

Ø 2 years of professional business experience; and

Ø Auditing and/or accounting experience is a plus.


Ø Good organization and project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects;

Ø Good written and oral communication skills;

Ø Proficient technology skills including MS Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint;

Ø Proficient in basic statistics and statistical software a plus;

Ø Works well in teams and independently; and

Ø Willingness to travel on occasion.
