The AutoCAD Technician supports operations in producing take offs for estimates, producing and reducing survey data, generating as-built drawings and other drawing requests as assigned. The AutoCAD Technician is expected to use their experience and judgment to make decisions within their limits of authority.
Measures of Impact:
The AutoCAD Technician has limited impact on Operations and Human Resources. This is an entry level engineering/professional position within the Company. Budgetary responsibility is limited.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Able to interpret drawings to determine quality take offs.
Able to create as-built drawings from field notes and survey data.
Interpret surfaces for volume and surface quantities.
Prepare drawings with input for proposal efforts.
Prepare drawings as assigned using standard drafting techniques.
Communicate effectively with estimators and operations personnel be written and verbal means to compete task as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Upper management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing. Excellent customer relations skills.
Ability to work independently and resolve practical problems, keeping all appropriate parties aware of issues or risks . Have a strong work ethic.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills including the use of the Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project Scheduling.
Ability to read and understand project plans and specifications.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
Associates or Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related discipline.
Prefer one (1) year of AutoCAD or engineering drawing experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
