This position is responsible for managing the metrology and engineering function which includes maintaining automated control and monitoring systems, writing equipment operational, preventative maintenance, and calibration procedures, generation of system documentation, P&IDs and other drawings, and commissioning of automated building, manufacturing, and utility systems and equipment. Position is responsible for managing daily facilities activities and system project design, installation, and commissioning. Also responsible for providing engineering support to other departments as well as the supervision and scheduling of contractors. Install, modify, troubleshoot, maintain PLC’s, VFD’s and controls, building automation/management systems and controls, SCADA systems, building and equipment control interlocks and safety systems, motion control devices and systems, instrumentation including temperature, RH, ph, conductivity, TOC analyzers, fiber optic, laser and other sensors and analyzing and metering systems.
Understanding of the operation of Water for Injection systems, autoclaves, fermenters, HVAC systems, complex high capacity chillers and ultra low temperature refrigeration systems, cooling towers, liquid pumping and compressible gas fluid systems including air compressors, boilers, and diesel generators, decon and waste neutralization systems, low-medium-high voltage power switching and distribution systems as they relate in a biologics regulated manufacturing industry. Experience in managing activities in the remodeling, construction and daily facilities function. Prepare equipment diagrams and system flow charts as required.
Experienced in the design, programming, configuration, installation, qualification documentation testing and diagnosis of RTU's, PLC's and HMI's. RTU and substation integration and automation system design is also required. Experienced with Allen Bradley PLC5, SLC500 PLc's and ControlLogix systems. Design and configuration software such as RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5. Associates Degree in a program related to electronics or electro-mechanical field or the equivalent. Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred. Minimum of five years working experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical or related companies as an engineer. Experience working with quality systems regulations. GAMP, and software programs such as Excel, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD required. Experienced in system design and integration of complex instrumentation, controls and monitoring systems and devices including software and hardware, electronic, electrical, pneumatic and electro-mechanical systems..
