Responsibility of the Biomedical Electronics Technician (BMET) is to perform inspections and repairs on equipment using electronic and mechanical skills and test equipment. This responsibility includes, but not limited to, operation and performance verification, schematic troubleshooting and repair, maintaining records, creating reports, selecting and requisitioning needed parts, and coordinating contracted service. The BMET may also provide technical assistance in the evaluation, in-service, and operation of clinical equipment.

Qualifications

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Biomedical Electronics

(related work experience may be substituted for educational requirements)

2 years of experience in medical electronics

Electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills

Communication skills

Knowledge in medical terminology
