Budget Specialist to conduct and serve in lead capacity on all or most budget, forecast, variance, General Fund Budget and special projects as part of the Fiscal & Employment Management Division of the Fort Worth Police Department.

Skills / Requirements Bachelors Degree or higher (Advanced degree preferred) from an accredited college or university with major course work in public or business administration, finance or related field required PLUS four (4) years increasingly responsible budget analysis and fiscal management experience in support of a department, division, or major service area including one (1) year in a supervisory or lead capacity required.
Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis required.
A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
Attention to detail, customer service and excellent oral and written communication required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Preferences include experience with large budgets (in excess of $50M) and experience with capital budgets. Experience with multiple data and budget systems and/or system implementation a plus.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS: WORKING CONDITIONS Office environment; exposure to computer screens; working closely with others.
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods of time; manual dexterity required.
