As a Technical Business Analyst you have the opportunity to contribute to advancing Runzheimer products and operational processes. Technical Business Analysts work on a variety of projects with various stakeholders, requiring strong communication skills and a balance of business analysis and technical expertise. This position serves as an integral liaison between stakeholders and technical staff during software development initiatives. A business analyst is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, validating, and documenting business needs and project requirements to enable the delivery of software solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
Determine which techniques and artifacts, such as business and functional documents, user stories, and mock-ups, will be most effective for each project.
Critically evaluate information and reconcile discrepancies by decomposing high-level information into details that ensure an appropriate outcome to address business objectives.
Identify alternative solutions for solving business problems and recommend potential solutions based on evidence collected during analysis.
Drive and challenge business stakeholders on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team.
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision, analyze usability and performance needs, and design conceptual overviews depicting data flow and component integration.
Express requirements in a structure and format that fosters efficient estimating by application architects and developers.
Ensure requirements are testable by linking acceptance criteria to core requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Business or related field.
Minimum 6 years of professional experience in software application delivery using systems development lifecycle methodologies
2 years in a Business Analyst role leading requirements gathering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Interpersonal capabilities to build collaborative relationships with people at all levels of the organization.
Strong organizational, analytical and product management skills
A strong understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
Proficiency in business process modeling and requirements gathering using a variety of techniques and tools.
Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously while working independently or with a team of business and technical professionals.
