The Business Information Architect develops and maintains information architecture to support the delivery of customer business intelligence needs and also manages the delivery of reporting solutions.
  • Develops and maintains an information architecture which enables information sharing and delivery in support of client strategies and requested solutions locally and in line with ITSC Cincinnati and MR Group Architecture
  • Designs and/ or reviews all information solutions to ensure alignment with ITSC-Cincinnati and MR Group best practices, direction and strategy, so as to ensure consistency across platforms and technologies
  • Works in conjunction with development staff to ensure the appropriate development of business and data models to meet the defined need
  • Creates & manages plans for application & report development/ maintenance in line with our Software Development Lifecycle standards to meet project plan milestones and deliverables as required
  • Negotiates to obtain and coordinates development activities of resources from within and outside the department to ensure resource optimization
  • Provides level of effort estimates and assists in prioritization of development projects for the division
  • Coordinates and assists in the prioritization and alignment of IT work in support of reporting solutions
  • Provides leadership and direction to off shore technical resource in support of reporting solutions
  • Develops code as necessary

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

. Experience :
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of IT development / data access/profiling experience
  • Conceptual, Logical or Physical Data modeling experience
  • Knowledge of insurance/reinsurance data/terminology and common insurance, financial and business metrics.
Technical Skills :
  • Strong data analysis skills through the use of automated tools, mathematical analyses or other audit / balancing techniques
  • At least 3 years of Data Modeling Experience
  • At least 5 years Data Warehouse Development Experience
  • Experience developing business requirements specifications in accordance with standard techniques
  • Expertise with Business Intelligence tools such as Cognos and IBM Infosphere suite of tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Excellent Project Planning/ Management skills
  • Knowledge of LANS / server environments
