A full-time account representative position for the university's student billing department. Working in a team environment, process financial transactions, provide customer service and explanation of financial policies to students and families. In addition to general customer service and account duties, this position will handle some specialized duties.

Acceptable Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation and three years of related accounting/bookkeeping experience, Associate degree in Accounting and one year accounting or bookkeeping experience, or any combination equal to three years.

Keyboarding and computer skills, such as spreadsheets, internet, e-mail, data base management, software applications and word processing.
Customer service skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the general public.
Aptitude for learning new accounting procedures and technology.
Organizational and analytical abilities.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in college or university business office.
Additional related experience and/or higher education.

Additional Salary Information:
(Salaried/hourly rates are set within the pay range based on each candidate's education and experience, job responsibilities, internal equity, and/or available department funding.)
Starting hourly rate normally does not exceed quartile.

Assist students and families with explanations of accounts, policies and payment methods. Process payments and refunds; balance cash drawer. Specialized duties include processing of outside scholarships, reclassifying term of payments, commercial account billing, handling financial adjustments for students on academic suspension, processing and monitoring refunds, pursuing return of credit balances. Responsible for some general office functions such as distribution of department's mail and reports, printing and mailing of bills, and indexing scanned documents.
