The BOH Intern supports the Alehouse Management team to acheive results on a shift basis to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate, supervise and participate in opening, closing and on shift prep work and facilities maintenance

Preparation for special events and banquets

Order food products to maintain appropriate inventory as directed by management

Ensure that food and other products received from vendors match order

Ensure proper food rotation schedules are being followed

Maintain proper food handling and safety procedures of all products used on line

Perform opening line checks and follow up to correct exceptions

To assist prep kitchen, dishroom and managers

Ordering of product used on a daily basis

Tracking of invoices per company guidelines

Tracking of labor numbers

Tracking of food cost

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory and ordering duties as assigned

Assist in special events and banquets as assigned

Openly communicate ideas and suggestions for improvements

Promote the IBU brands in the consumer sector when visiting bars, restaurants and stores that sell beer.

Perform other related duties and assignments as required and assigned.

Working knowledge to operate and maintain equipment and produce multiple food items in a correct and timely manner.

Good understanding of crew job positions and be able to assist as well as have adequate knowledge of POS system and other equipment.

Know proper product handling guidelines including proper sanitation, storage, temperature and rotation of all line food items.

Learn and be familiar with recipes and par levels in each station

Know all production recipes and procedures for all stations on line

Strong listening and verbal/written communication skills

Able to prioritize and organize work load for staff to respond to fluctuations in business.

Able to prioritize tasks to meet the needs for shift.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Some high school or GED. Some college or vocational training preferred.

Moderate to high noise levels

Exposure to outside weather during portions of shift

Exposure to cleaning chemicals

Crowded physical conditions when busy
