Responsible for baking for the dry case, opening the Bakery in the morning, and/or closing the Bakery in the evening.

Reports to: Bakery Manager

Duties and Responsibilities may include any of the following:
Turn on ovens

Bake muffins, cookies, danishes, and croissants

Set and maintain the dry case, to include product, signage, and rotation for freshness

Set and maintain the pastry case, to include product, signage, and rotation for freshness

Provide customer service at the bakery counter, and other areas as needed

Fill and maintain bakery products and grab and go products on the sales floor

Monitor the Bakery Manager production level list and take necessary steps to fulfill production requirements

Scoop breakfast items and cookie batter for the following day

Next day preparation for breakfast items and scooping batter for various items

Move dry case items, to include appropriate wrapping/containers, to sales floor

Wrap pastry case trays

Move and slice bread in window

Cleaning, to include work area, spills, trash, equipment, utensils, glass, floors, and counters

Participate in scheduled inventory counts

Attend required department and storewide meetings

Follow all safety guidelines, including sanitation, equipment usage, reporting equipment failure, and personal behavior

Perform miscellaneous job-related functions as assigned

Required Skills

Must demonstrate excellent customer service, with Team Members and customers

Must be a team player and willing to help others when operational/customer needs require

Ability to read and follow both written and verbal instructions

Must be organized and demonstrate attention to detail

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis

Ability to stand, stoop, reach, and handle with hands/fingers on a constant basis

Must demonstrate manual dexterity with potentially hazardous equipment (mixers, slicers, ovens, etc.)

Ability to work in a kitchen environment with exposure to extreme temperatures, odors, fumes, smoke, and loud noise

Previous experience in baking or cooking in a restaurant, catering, or bakery environment preferred
