To service all banquet events maintaining the highest quality service standards established for The Biltmore Hotel.

Report to work on time in proper uniform.
Check board to ensure the location of the room to work in.
Review copy of BEO with Captain during line up.
Set up china, glass and silverware according to established guidelines in a timely and efficient manner.
Prepare side station for service.
Provide exceptional service during the service of meals, observing the Captains signals.
Provide continuous attention to details before, during and after the service of the meal.
Ensure all guests receive a memorable experience from their stay at the hotel.
Complete all assigned side work duties in a timely manner.
Follow proper clearing and cleanup procedure.
Follow proper handling of hotel equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times observing all safety rules.
Follow proper beverage handling procedures.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the Biltmore rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotels facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

Other supportive functions:

A. Accommodate all guest requests.
B. Assist with the set up of rooms during turns which may involve carrying tables and chairs.
C. Attend monthly training meetings.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential job functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills or abilities.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
Requires good communication skills.
Must possess good detail orientation and organizational skills.
Must have general knowledge of food service standards.
Must have the ability to learn new tasks.
Must have exceptional food and beverage service skills.

Ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing environment. Must be adept to multitasking.


Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include AM and PM hours, weekends and holidays.
Must be flexible to work on call when required.
Must be flexible to work overtime if required.
Must be able to work while standing/walking for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment that requires walking around within the property.
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors.
Must be able to properly lift and carry 30 lbs.
Must be able to carry service trays with up to 12 covered dishes.
Must be able to balance a round tray with glassware.

Talking and hearing occurs continuously in the process of communicating with employees,
managers, and subordinates.

Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision.

No degree is required.

Prior food and beverage experience in an upscale operation is required.

Licenses or Certifications:
Food safety certification.

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance per Biltmore standards.

This job requires the use of a server uniform in compliance with the stipulations in the Biltmore Hotel Employee Handbook.
