The Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown is set in the world-famous Gaslamp Quarter in the heart of San Diego, our unique 245-room hotel is housed in a truly beautiful 1920’s bank building lovingly restored to its original glory.
This historic hotel was designed by master architect William Templeton Johnson in 1928, crowning its Spanish tile roof with a revolving aerial beacon housed in a copper cupola.
Bank patrons of days gone by would still recognize the arched windows, circular chandeliers, and 32-food stenciled ceiling adorning the upper regions of the spacious lobby. The original marble still covers the floor, columns, counters, pillars, and walls.
Located close to the San Diego Convention Center and Horton Plaza and not far from the World-famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World and San Diego beaches, there are many wonderful opportunities to shop, relax, or just enjoy the local attractions.
