Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Must be properly certified in accordance with training and certification process for the
Batching Associate 3 position, **See below
2. Follow:
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s)
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
3. Assemble batches by weighing and measuring ingredients according to the recipe.
4. Keep batching area clean and sanitized.
5. Keep accurate records of batches and lot number tracking.
6. Clean and sanitize the batching area at shift end.
7. Track and account for utensils during and at end of shift.
8. Assure all ingredient containers are labeled with correct information
9. Required to certify on the Material Handler position and fill-in this position as the
production schedule dictates.
10. Other duties as assigned.

BATCHING
Demonstrate knowledge of the following:
1. Stage ingredients for a work order.
2. Record ingredients on staging log.
3. Dispose of waste properly.
4. Operate a pallet positioner.
5. Operate a scale.
6. Batching process.
7. Verify ingredients for a work order.
8. Properly remove outer packaging.
9. Operate diaphragm pump.
10. Operate a cheese grinder.
11. Operate butter/cheese cutter (up/down) and butter cutter.
12. Operate a slurry mixer.
13. Use a buggy sheet to load a buggy.
14. Keep accountability by using utensil tracking sheet.
15. To operate a paste pump.
16. Operate a honey valve.
17. Weigh, label, and reseal partially used ingredient.
18. Disassemble/sanitize/assemble a paste pump.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Skills:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to calculate simple fractions.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills:
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

National Career Readiness Certification Preferred

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must possess basic knowledge of safe use and handling of cleaning chemicals. Must have the ability to disassemble and reassemble machinery using simple tools.
