Demonstrate a knowledge of the plant & process from the bead deck pulsaires to the bulk storage tank and conveying systems.

Demonstrate ability to manage diversion tanks and repour systems.

Be knowledgeable of product quality, inspection procedures and adjustment criteria to identify incompatible or undesirable materials at any point in the process and take action to correct the problem or notify the Process Control Supervisor, as appropriate.

Capable of mixing binder to the appropriate concentration and follow all associated procedures. Will require math skills for calculating proper mixing.

Maintain good housekeeping in primary work area and inspect area for safety and environmental concerns.

Must inspect all equipment in primary area to identify existing or eminent problems and take appropriate action. Perform minor maintenance as required. Enter work orders into Hickok’s computer Maintenance Logistics System (MLS).

Must be capable of taking all required SOP readings as directed.

Operate beading and drying equipment to maintain desired bead quality and perform other tasks as directed.

Must demonstrate safe work practices. Must be able to meet all verbal & written communication requirements. Must be able to read, understand & perform all written procedures in a satisfactory manner. Must possess or obtain a basic understanding of instrumentation, materials flow and mechanics. Must be able to climb ladders, bend and lift weights, up to 50 pounds as necessary to perform the job. Must be able to work effectively with other departments.

Works with furnace operator, process control supervisor, and other departments. Must communicate verbally and in writing with others to insure safe, efficient, and productive operations. Must be able to work independently with minimum direct supervision.

This job involves shift work and requires scheduled and unscheduled overtime to maintain 24 hour coverage of the furnace area.
