Responsible for the execution of the international beauty program in their designated market. This position will require the team member to reside in the market and will report to the Global Innovation and Activation Team. Responsible for educating, teaching, implementing and analyzing data in the beauty markets. They will be providing market visit reports and recaps. Responsible for acting as a conduit between Store Operations and the Innovation and Activations and Merchandising Teams.
Assists stores in the initial launch of the international beauty products into the domestic Walgreen stores. Coordinates and implements training programs on new global beauty lines that will now be offered in our domestic stores.
Develops store and market level expertise to assist Category Manager (CMs) in localizing custom planograms (POGs ). Functions as resident market expert.
Conducts daily store market visits. Observes performance of established programs and monitors quality, product integrity and vendor performance on international beauty items.
Educates store employee on product attributes and quality, and coordination of international products with domestic product lines. Ensures adherence to Planograms, Merchandising Techniques, and pricing.
Maintains working relationship with Store Management to address issues and ensures processes are in place.
Monitors and reviews stores’ ordering procedures to identify the right product levels for store sales and ensures proper ordering frequency.
Analyzes data to better understand store trends and opportunities. Reviews sales performance and produces store reports. Works with CMs on actionable items; pricing, item and brand selection, planogram changes, including “B” space allocation.
Provides feedback to merchandising team on performance. Ensures program displays are implemented.
Provides ethnic demographics and competitive information on current and future international beauty locations. Assists in developing the correct range and offering.
Participates in Company and Competitor store trips to gather information for development of new items and merchandising concepts.
Basic Qualifications & Interests
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years of experience in Retail, Merchandising, Purchasing and/or Store Experience or a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience in Retail, Merchandising, Purchasing and/or Store Experience.
At least 2 years of experience with training.
At least 2 years of experience working with stores on implementation process.
At least 2 years of experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
Experience managing departmental expense and/or capital budgets.
Willing to travel up to 100% of the time within market AND at least 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
