Job Summary
Participates in the assessment, intervention, and documentation of the clinical needs of assigned Behavioral Health patients. Coordinates the discharge process and plans follow-up care for patients. Participates actively in the Interdisciplinary Team Process.
Qualifications
? Graduate of an accredited university or college with a Master’s Degree in social work or counseling required.
? Broad knowledge base of DSM IV diagnoses and treatment modalities required.
? Excellent assessment and communication skills required.
? Ability to manage/function in a high stress setting.
? General computer skills preferred.
Physical/Behavioral Requirements
Physical requirements include occasional stooping, standing, walking, reaching, and frequent sitting. Sedentary physical force is required (exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects). Visual acuity required for accurate physical assessment of patients and accurate documentation in patient’s medical record. Ability to speak and hear is required for accurate physical and psychosocial patient assessments, Code One for safety, and to effectively communicate/meet with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. Sense of smell required for safety maintenance. Sense of touch required for creating art projects. Manual finger dexterity required for Code One participation and safety. Ability to effectively manage a high stress environment resulting from high volume admissions and discharges and treatment of acutely ill patients.
