Job Summary
The function of this position is to provide data entry support for the behavioral health providers. The job duties of this position will directly impact the revenue cycle, as well as compliance with State of Alaska reporting requirements. The incumbent of this position will be tasked with, but will not be limited to, the following duties: all data entry into the Alaska Information Management System (AKAIMS), complete patient registration, and insurance verification. Other duties will include talking room and group room preparation for providers. This position requires great attention to detail, a high accuracy rate, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with others.
Essential Functions
Complete the patient registration process in designated electronic health record
Admission and enrollment into AKAIMS for all new behavioral health clients
Ensure compliance with State requirements with regard to accuracy rate in AKAIMS (Minimal Data Set)
Data entry of all daily encounters and Client Status Reviews (CSRs) for established clients
Submission of all superbills to the Billing Department
Track units for all authorized therapeutic services provided for Medicaid clients
Monitor completion of CSRs according to schedule
Verification of third party insurance, Medicaid, Medicare for all scheduled behavioral health clients
Complete discharge process in AKAIMS
Ensure the talking and group rooms are prepped with specific therapeutic tools required for that session, to include returning room to original order for use by next program
Willingly performs all other job duties assigned

Experience

Experience in an office support position in a healthcare setting, preferred
Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR, preferred

Ability to type 60 WPM with less than 10% error rate, typing test required
