Thresholds Young Adult Program serves youth ages 16-21 with significant behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs who are transitioning to adulthood.
The Young Adult program focuses on teaching life skills, social skills, and symptom management in order to prepare for independence.
- The Behavior Management Tech (BMT) Team Leader assumes a leadership role within the program’s assigned team. He/she must model evidence-based practices, strong clinical intervention skills, member engagement skills, milieu management skills, and crisis intervention skills to ensure team adherence and understanding of best practices.
- The BMT Team Leader provides direct service to members, functioning as the senior clinician or "player coach" of the team. This includes participation on the team in a manner consistent with team expectations and in a fashion which models the functioning expected of all team members.
- The BMT Team Leader performs and participates in crisis intervention when necessary, models to other staff the best practices for crisis intervention as trained in TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention), and performs and supervises physical management. Must attend all TCI trainings in the required time frames, pass TCI exam, have the ability to stand, bend and stretch, and the ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Provides accurate and timely information to the Program Director or Assistant Program Director on all topics and issues related to the operation of your team and the well-being of the members; and, as appropriate, transmit such information to subordinates.
