Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for
• Perform skin permeation assays with focus on skin preparation and sample processing for bioanalysis, analyzing and compiling data for monthly reports.
• Assist in study set up, animal dosing and collection of blood and or excreta from in vivo studies
• Maintain excellent laboratory notebook records on the experiments performed.
• Keeping up with current scientific literature in the field
• Assist in the day to day activities in the laboratory, including equipment maintenance, laboratory organization, maintaining accurate inventory of human skin supply.
• Handling of biohazardous materials.

Blood borne pathogen training requiremented.

Basic Requirements:
• BS or MS in Animal or Veterinary Sciences, Biology or equivalent, with 3-5 years of experience.
• Experience in handling small animals
• In vivo dosing (IV, PO, SC and dermal) and blood sample collection
• Basic understanding of topical drug delivery is beneficial
• Laboratory performance is evaluated by
o Quality of work as evidenced by rigor of experimental designs and execution
o Compliance to Data Integrity guidelines and SOPs
o Compliance to EH&S safety guidelines and SOPs
o Compliance to relevant Stiefel R&D SOPs
• Customer satisfaction measured by feedback from laboratory personnel
• Must be able to work in a team-orientated, matrix environment
• Must be able personal flexibility to adapt to changes in project priorities
• Support a variety of functions
Specialized Knowledge:
• Excellent social skills and the ability to work daily in a bench-level laboratory setting
• Excellent written communication skills to provide comprehensive progress reports.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical product development
• Proficiency in common scientific software
