Assists in maintaining confidential personnel records of all employees ensuring all necessary forms required by the Credit Union and those required by government have been completed.
  • Maintains enrollment, application, and claims records for all benefits plans.
  • Responsible for FMLA and COBRA.
  • Takes part in new employee orientation with regard to employee benefits and Employee Handbook policies and guidelines when needed.
  • Provides assistance to employees and resolves complaints related to health and welfare plans. Refers difficult complaints to VP/HRS as needed and keeps VP/HRS advised of potential problem areas.
  • Files workers’ compensation insurance claims and unemployment claims.
  • Processes termination paperwork, including termination packets to employees, and processes completed forms.
  • Assists employees with beneficiary, address, and insurance changes, insuring that all necessary forms have been completed and required documentation received.
  • Responsible for maintaining Monthly Employee Reports, Annual Termination Report, and other reports which may be requested by the VP/HRS or Sr. VP/HRD.
  • Responsible for maintenance of SPF performance management system and provides assistance to employees and managers in the use of the system.
  • Coordinates quarterly blood drives. Acts as hostess when needed for special events and ceremonies.
  • Pulls employee random drug screening reports at least quarterly.
  • Handles all other personnel and human resource functions as approved or directed by the VP/HRS or Sr. VP/HRD.
  • Completes annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program. Also completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
  • Section IV Minimum Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous experience in employee benefits and compensation preferred.
    • Proficient in Word and Excel.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including phone skills, in order to interact professionally and effectively with staff, vendors, and other agencies.
    • Basic math and problem solving skills.
    • Good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with benefits related state and federal regulations preferred.
    • Must handle items considered extremely confidential, the release of which could be detrimental to the Credit Union.
    • Must be willing to enroll in education courses as requested.
    • Must be able to work under general supervision.
