This Human Resources Specialist will perform as a Benefits Counselor providing high level of customer service in consulting and counseling employees about all benefits.
Responsibilities include accurate data entry in the Human Resources Banner Payroll System, conduct Orientation for new hires, update the New Hire Presentation as needed, process retirement and provide the appropriate counseling. Responsible for Longevity processing, tracking and posting to the Payroll Confirmation Sheet, make necessary changes and assist with the approval process in the E-Benefits System and NCFlex System, and run Web Focus reports. Process and counsel employees on Family & Medical Leave and Short-Term Disability. Provide unemployment claims data in a timely and efficient manner and provide timely notification to our Third Party Administrator regarding University protests. Ability to back up Workers' Compensation Administrator. Assist with counseling on the NC Flex Programs, State Health Plan and Serious Illness and Disability Leave for Faculty. Conduct exit interviews.
NC Office of State Personnel Requires:
Graduation from a four year college or university; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
