STATUS: Full-time, Non-exempt
SALARY RANGE: $ 13.50 / hr. - $ 16.50 / hr.
The goal of this position is to keep clients continually engaged in health care and social services by ensuring that eligibility for any and all funding sources are active and verified. Serve as central registration staff to collect or assist clients with collection of information regarding demographics, insurance eligibility or insurance status using a combination of technologies. Assess clients eligibility for insurances, public and private disabilities programs, social security, Medi-Cal, Medicare and other benefits programs. Identify D.A.P. or other community programs or resources the client may be eligible for and successfully initiate linkage to program enrollment. Staff will use a variety of technologies to include web based Patient Portal, proctoring computer kiosks, and scanning of manual copies of required documents. Staff is responsible for the accurate input and validation of all client data in three data bases. Staff will be well versed in and explain Policies and Procedures of D.A.P. and related program protocols to assist client understanding and improved utilization. Staff will act as a resource and referral source for clients who need benefits.
Consistently register and update client demographic and insurance coverage data for all clients entering D.A.P.
Screen all clients for current eligibility at each visit and update immediately in electronic health records
Explain client responsibilities under D.A.P. Sliding Fee Schedule for those who are uninsured or under insured
Update and communicate any and all insurance or income related changes that impact service delivery or eligibility each time client presents
Monitor and inform clients of any and all data update requirements, educate on consequences of noncompliance to include loss of services
Proactively assist with informing and scheduling clients to complete all IEHP, RCHC,MISP,ADAP, etc. appointments;
Identify clients in crisis who have lost benefits coverage and assist in re-enrolling or finding other options and enlisting the follow through by case manager;
Provide information and conduct small group presentations to staff and clients related to current laws and regulations pertaining to insurance benefits
Inform and direct to services for public assistance and applications processes (for Social Security, Medi-Cal, etc.) as needed;
Adeptly maintain accurate electronic records of all client interactions following D.A.P. policy,

TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES
Associates degree in related field preferred;
Advanced training and knowledge in medical/social benefits and public/private benefits or medical front office experience;
Strong ability to work with a variety of clients while discussing confidential information and to maintain positive working relationship;
Bilingual/bicultural preferred .
Establish and maintain professional boundaries with staff and clients at all times;
Coordinate multiple tasks efficiently and quickly.
Ability to work flexible hours and/or shifts;
Sit for long periods of time;
Accurately enter data into computerized database;
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of individuals, both internally and externally;
Ability to operate multiple agency client electronic health records systems with accuracy.
