Manager, HR Operations
Position Summary :
SCA’s Benefits Manager has responsibility for supporting the design, implementation, communication, cost efficiency, and administration of all benefit plans consistent with the company philosophy, vision, strategy and culture.
This position is responsible for the management of multiple benefit plans for the SCA employee population. The management of these programs includes participation in development and renewal of benefit plans and contracts, maintaing compliance of all SCA Health and Welfare plans, establishing and ensuring eligibility data for plans, coordination with payroll department of data transfers to benefit vendors, as well as managing the benefits during acquisitions and benefit transitions.
Manages day to day benefit activities
Responsible for all vendor relationships and issues
Directs benefit project work
Identifies resources needed and directs individual responsibilities
Ensures compliance with state and federal program guidelines.
Responsible for prompt communication, response, and resolution to issues as they arise among employees or vendors Financial Management
Develops and manages benefits budget Supervises claim and invoice audits and authorizes payments.
Assures benefit contracts and legal documents are completed Communication
Facilitates HR team and client meetings effectively.
Holds regular status meetings with HR team and broker.
Keeps HR and Operations teams well informed of changes within the organization and benefit trends/news.
Effectively communicates benefit plans or changes to employees.
Resolves employee concerns/issues in a timely fashion.
Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Technical Understanding
Possesses general understanding in the areas of application, database and system design.
Possesses a thorough understanding of system for reporting capabilities.
Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies. Vendor Management
Manages day-to-day vendor interaction.
Sets and manages vendor data exchanges.
Communicates effectively with vendors and employees on benefit plans and expectations.
Total education, vocational training and experience:
Bachelor's degree required
CEBS, PHR or SPHR certification preferred
5+ years benefit experience preferred
Ceridian system knowledge a plus
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, including a proven ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
Strong leadership skills including conflict/issue resolution.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with employees and vendors
Substantial experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Travel required for acquisitions and training. The Benefits Manager can work out of our Birmingham office or from a remote location.
