Benefit Manager jobs
Basic Function:
Manage the administration of health and welfare. Responsible for ensuring Health and Welfare benefits are competitive, cost effective and legally compliant.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
In partnership with the Benefits Director, develop innovative programs, communication materials and manage benefits budget.
Manage annual Health and Welfare benefits open enrollment for US and Canada.
Evaluate the usage and effectiveness of Health & Welfare benefit programs and propose changes as necessary.
Responds to and resolves escalated employee concerns regarding Health and Welfare benefits programs. Advises the Benefits Director on exception requests.
Manage co-sourcing vendor in the administrative processes necessary to deliver Health and Welfare benefits.
Oversees the co-sourced vendor in the processing of all documents necessary for implementation of various Health and Welfare benefits programs and maintenance of such records for compliance with ERISA, COBRA, and other applicable regulations.
Manage Health and Welfare vendors. Ensure they provide world class customer service, process claims accurately and administering plans as dictated in our plan documents.
Partner closely with Benefits Director to negotiate coverage, services and costs with carriers and brokers.
Ensure data integrity related to Health & Welfare plans; including: accuracy of payroll deductions, collection of Health & Welfare premiums from associates on COBRA.
Ensure the processing of State Court Orders
Manage benefit compliance initiatives to meet Federal and State requirements.
Prepare, collect and organize data for Health and Welfare benefits audits including: bi-weekly data integrity audits, annual Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Non-Discrimination testing, and SOX audits.
Job Requirements:
5 years Human Resources and Benefits & Welfare experience
Considerable knowledge in benefits administration and related laws and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication, strong business focus, critical thinking process orientation.
Ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions. Ability to make decisions
Results, solution oriented individual
Experience managing and prioritizing workload, and competing priorities
Demonstrated follow-through
Self motivated with a strong sense of personal accountability.
Able to handle high volume of work & adapt to change
Strong project management skills
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
