EnerNOC, a leading provider of demand response and energy efficiency solutions, has an immediate need for a Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources organization! Based in EnerNOC’s newly built Boston headquarters located in the Seaport district, this is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated, resourceful individual to leverage his or her positive attitude, strong time management skills, and innate customer service abilities in support of a company that is poised to make a large impact on the energy industry and the world at large. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Human Resources, this high visibility role involves working cross functionally across a variety of internal stakeholders throughout the organization and offers a terrific opportunity to make an impact on the employee population at EnerNOC.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact to all employees for the EnerNOC US benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, FSA, 401(k) life, disability, leave of absence, pretax commuter, COBRA and various discount and incentive benefits programs
• Support the Senior Manager of Human Resources in administering global benefits programs
• Play primary role in Annual Benefits Open Enrollment, including attending renewal meetings, creating communications campaign and other related tasks
• Manage all aspects of EnerNOC’s wellness program, which includes ensuring the program remains relevant to our population and that it aligns with EnerNOC’s wellness goals
• Manage all aspects of EnerNOC’s Leave of Absence programs
• Manage administration of the 401(k) plan including managing issues of varying levels of complexity and assisting with annual retirement plan audits and nondiscrimination testing
• Assist with preparation and submission of other compliance reporting including OSHA, 5500 filing preparation, other non discrimination testing
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert in Workday HCM system administration as it relates to benefit and leave of absence actions (enrollments, changes, etc.)
• Ensure the accuracy of incoming and outgoing electronic eligibility and enrollment files
• Manage relationships with our benefits brokers and vendors
• Execute benefits communications campaigns in various formats; creating and distributing communications as needed, including annual notices, emails, forms, Brainsharks, company intranet, and handbooks
• Coordinate benefits events including but not limited to vendor lunch n’ learns, benefit vendor fairs, new benefit presentations, onsite health screenings, and annual Step It Up! pedometer challenge
• Partner with Payroll department to ensure accuracy of payroll data related to benefits function (adjusted earnings payments, benefit deduction proration, etc.)
• Stay abreast of evolving legislation and identify and implement program changes and communication strategies for legislations that impacts EnerNOC benefits
• Administer Worker’s Compensation program (i.e., assist employees with filing initial claims)
• Assess needs for and implement new benefits within the EnerNOC benefits program structure
• Execute and deliver benefit related reporting and audits as needed
• Regularly review and identify ways to improve current benefit offerings and administrative processes
• Other special projects and administrative duties as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 4 to 5 years of work experience in a benefits specific function
• Solid knowledge and experience in the area of benefits and HR legislation, and fundamentals including multistate and international legislation and compliance (ERISA, IRS, DOL, HIPAA, PPACA, ADA, FMLA etc.)
• Interest in seeking new and innovative ways to enhance the EnerNOC benefits and wellness programs
• Good project management skills
• Experience and comfort working within a dynamic, fast moving organization
• Experience and comfort transacting in HR systems (vendor integrations, reports, etc.); experience with Workday HCM is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills; comfort in a highly visible, customer facing position
• Excellent attention to detail
• Independent decision making ability
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and issue resolution skills
• Excellent oral, written, presentation, and communications skills
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
• Initiative, resourcefulness and the ability to work in a flexible team environment
• Ability to function both independently and as part of a team
• Strong Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc) and also PowerPoint skills
