I. POSITION SUMMARY
Processes and reconciles billing invoices from third-party vendors. Reconciliation of insurance deductions. Develops internal benefit communications. Financial analysis of benefits programs, oversee corporate health and wellness programs including health education programs. Resolves employee questions/problems regarding insurance coverage, claims and deductions. Completes 401(k) Contribution processing. Assists Benefits Manager with activities relating to the 401(k) Plan, including annual 401(k) audit. Works under limited supervision.
II. POSITION DETAILS
Responds to high volume of questions/inquiries regarding benefit plans (eligibility plan specifics and exceptions). Interacts daily with insurance carriers to resolve/troubleshoot issues associates encounter with insurance coverage, deductions and claims. Key liaison with benefit carriers, building relationships and providing adequate communication.
Resolves discrepancies of associate's coverage/deductions between insurance companies, Payroll and Human Resources. Ensures accuracy and consistency of benefit data. Conducting root cause analysis and implements controls.
Participates in annual benefit open enrollment planning and implementation process including creation of open enrollment, materials, postcards, coordination of mailing, and system audits.
Completes 401(k) reconciliation and funding of contributions.
Reconciliation of insurance benefit deductions against payroll reports to ensure accurate collection of premium (benefit deductions in arrears); prepares spreadsheet for collection of payments.
Assists Benefits Manager with Benefits system implementations
Generates monthly benefit carrier bill and prepares wire transfer for Finance Dept for services rendered. Reconciles insurance accounts against payroll deductions to ensure correct posting to Accounting's General Ledger.
Assists in various Programs by providing appropriate claim forms, and ensuring that proper documentation of Adoption Benefits.
Reviews the benefits eligibility for accuracy and works with the HRIS Specialist to resolve discrepancies.
Coordinates monthly e-newsletter, development of programs and educational information to create awareness.
Assists the insurance partner with data and the development of metrics reporting on a monthly basis.
Completes State filings for MA and CA (San Francisco).
Handles Life Insurance and Death Claims by ensuring appropriate paperwork is obtained from family members. Sends information to disability carrier and follows-up to ensure timely payout of insurance payment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree required plus a minimum of three years experience processing employee benefits enrollments and resolving coverage related problems required. General knowledge of benefits terms and company policies required. Effective communication skills also required.
Strong communications skills.
Knowledge of employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance and disability.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.
