For the Hospital Business Office, the Biller's function is to ensure accurate and timely submission of insurance claims via electronic or hard-copy mail in claims. High school graduate of equivalent required. At least two years of college preferred. One year experience as an insurance clerk in a hospital or physician's office required.
Experience with automated systems preferred. Knowledge of claims submission process for all major insurance carriers, intermediaries, Medicare and Medicaid preferred. Must possess ability to input data into computer programs, answer telephone, compose letters, balance figures, compile statistics, and research information. Working knowledge of CRT, calculator, fax, microfiche or microfilm reader/printer, photocopier and typewriter.
