The billing assistant plays a critical role in the revenue cycle of the firm by providing billing coordinators assistance in the production of client bills.


  • Monitors the billing mail-box and acts as first level review:
    • Assists timekeepers and secretaries with diary entry issues and transfers of time and costs between matters;
    • Identifies appropriate recipient (billing coordinator or other departments); forwards when appropriate
  • Gathers client required auxiliary documentation from various data sources
  • Enters client billing guidelines into database
  • Assists with the monthly printing and distributing of unbilled proformas and unbilled inventory and accounts receivable reports
  • Provide backup coverage for billing coordinators
  • Provide clients and attorneys with invoice copies
  • Other related duties as assigned

  • Requirements:
    • Associates degree or higher in accounting, finance or business
    • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills
    • The billing assistant must possess a high degree of confidence and professional maturity and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work in dynamic, multi-office environment
    • Provides superior customer service
    • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel
    • Self directed with a strong work ethic; capable of working independently with limited supervision
    • Ability to occasionally work outside of established business hours and adjust personal schedule to meet deadlines is required
