We are currently looking to add a dynamic Billing Specialist to our team.

The Billing Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all billing tasks are performed in an accurate and timely manner. Responsible for verifying any paper documentation. Transmits OASIS data. Performs claims audits. In smaller branches, will assume one or more other branch roles such as Office Coordinator, Payroll Coordinator, Human Resources Coordinator, and Administrative Specialist. The Billing Specialist reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: §

Utilizing clinical operational software responsible for completing all billing tasks in an accurate and timely manner. Process private pay and Medicaid billing. §

Complete daily verification of any paper documentation. §

Verify Medicare eligibility. §

Run OASIS validation reports. Transmits data by specified time. Follows up on open billing issues. §

Perform claims audits. §

Protect the integrity of the organization, patients and co-workers by maintaining confidentiality of all patient records and business information. Adheres to mandatory HIPAA/Privacy guidelines. §

Maintain and contribute to the efficiency of operations by consistently complying with all company and regulatory policies, procedures and guidelines. §

Attend meetings and in-service programs as requested.

Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements: §

Minimum of (2) two years billing experience including (1) one year healthcare billing experience. Demonstrated abilities may preclude years of experience. §

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. College or business school preferred. §

Be knowledgeable of healthcare industry and Medicare billing procedures. §

Demonstrate ability to work with little supervision and make appropriate judgments. §

Possess good mathematical skills. §

Must have excellent typing, computer, and calculator skills with strong background in popular software programs. ( Microsoft Office and Windows) §

Must possess strong organizational, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
