The position involves research and development of medical devices related to continuous glucose monitors. The qualified candidate will work with cross-functional teams to define and analyze product requirements. This position will be responsible the retrospective data analysis of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and insulin pump database information. Activities include database pre-processing, data analysis, trend and pattern detection, physiological modeling and result validation. In addition, the individual will work with members of the technical staff to develop and optimize commercially available and developmental glucose sensor systems through the use of mathematical modeling and experimentation to evaluate and select signal processing techniques for implementation. Specific emphasis will be placed on evaluation of signal separation, signal extraction, signal reconstruction, and signal arrays.
Use a fundamental knowledge of bioengineering along with relevant engineering principles to contribute to the design of glucose sensor products, components, and requirements.
Develop programming scripts for data analysis
Analyze and quantify large amounts of data to generate verifiable conclusions
Conduct statistical analysis
Apply principles of signal processing, construct algorithms in MATLAB or other software package to test concepts.
Create interfaces for retrieving data from database
Write detailed technical reports
Apply data analysis results to aid product development decisions, clinical study design, and field surveillance
Validate data analysis tools for automated analysis
BS in Engineering
2+ years of directly applicable experience
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience with algorithm development and validation
Proficient in MATLAB programming language
Proficient with statistical analysis.
Experience with software programming, database tools, and data processing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Capable of drafting and generating written documentation in the form of specifications, engineering reports, validation plans, and validation reports in a manner that conforms to internal design control requirements
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively
Accuracy and attention to detail essential
Experience in analyzing large data sets and performing relevant statistical analysis
Experience in pattern recognition algorithms
Knowledge of statistical techniques and methods
Proficient in MiniTab statistical analysis software
Experience with array signal processing, signal separation, signal extraction, and signal reconstruction
Medical device or healthcare industry experience
