The Biomedical Electronics Technician (BMET) is responsible to provide a safe environment for all health team members, all visitors, and patients by maintaining, repairing and inspecting patient care equipment. He/she is responsible and held accountable to document and record equipment service histories and significant events. Certified BMET’s are expected to adhere to ICC standards and practices. BMET’s will be scheduled and rotate being on-call for emergency coverage following successful completion of their competency based orientation. Employee will work irregular shifts when scheduled. Will be required to work in a functioning health care setting. Will work on shared service duties at multiple locations as assigned. Works in a variety of settings under various conditions. Complies with departmental policies and procedures, including general and radiation safety, and infection control and prevention.
Preferred: Associate of Applied Sciences degree from a Biomedical Electronics Program and ICC Certified with work experience; or comparable military training and ICC Certified with work experience.
Acceptable: Associate of Applied Sciences degree from a Biomedical Electronics Program. Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology with three years experience in the servicing of a variety of medical equipment in a hospital and/or clinic setting. Comparable military training.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Experienced in use of MS Office software. Flexibility and willingness to assist departmental staff in emergency situations.
License or Certification: Valid drivers license.

Schedule Details: 7:00am-4:00pm 1-hour lunch M-F
Weekend Schedule: Rotating On-Call with team
Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $20.20 per hour.
