Job description:
The New York City division of Mental Hygiene, Office of the Executive Deputy Commissioner is seeking to procure Biostatistician on a consultant basis to provide statistical and methodological consultation to epidemiology/research staff in the Division of Mental Hygine leading studies and conducting analyses on a range of mental hygiene topics such as mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, and developmental disabilities for servies to be completed over two fiscal years.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
The Biostatistician "consultant" should have a PhD in statistics in a related field with an excellent knowledge of statistical methodology and study design, and the ability to communicate both verbally and written statistical information to non-statisticians.

Candidates invited for interview will be assessed on the following areas:
1. Experience - Study design, including population-based surveys; complex analyses - e.g., poison regressoin, cluster analysis, time-series analysis, survival analysis; longitudinal analysis-trajectories; multi-level modeling, sample weighting, public health related (50%)
2. Analytic software - SAS, SUDAAN (30%)
