Candidate will participate in Endangered Species Act listed bird surveys at Camp Stanley Storage Activity (CSSA). Following U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service protocols for conducting surveys for the black-capped vireo and golden-cheeked warbler, surveys will begin prior to sunrise and terminate no later than 1:00 pm. As survey dates are subject to change based on weather conditions and range use at CSSA, schedule flexibility is required to conduct surveys on contigent / make-up dates. The candidate will report to the onsite task order manager to provide daily survey results and particpate in outbriefs with CSSA personnel, as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
5 years minimum experience with golden-cheeked warbler and black-capped vireo surveys using U.S. Fish and Wildlfe Service (USFWS) protocols for these two species.
Experience in field techniques for enumeration surveys for passerines in Central Texas.
Ability to navigate steep terrain and thickly vegetated areas
