Operate all equipment that is associated with boiler operations.
Verify water quality, such as pH levels, alkalinity and conductivity, through chemical testing procedures.
Ensure that the equipment is fully operational and in good repair by performing maintenance as necessary and assisting other maintenance personnel should the need arrive.
Troubleshoot problems as required.
Complete all operating logs and record any required information on Excel spreadsheets.
Shovel coal into bunkers.
Assist truck drivers as necessary with loading of ash or unloading coal or chemicals.
Attend various mandatory safety, departmental, and talk-time meetings to attend.
Enter confined spaces under proper permit conditions and supervision.
Work outdoors in a dusty environment.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Hold a valid State of Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator License
Must continue to improve knowledge either by on the job training or outside instruction.
Must be able to work 12 hr shifts, including nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, climb ladders, etc., to work in elevated areas of the plant, and confined spaces.
Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
Must have very strong mathematical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must have very good time management skills.
Must be able to prioritize tasks and follow-up skills.
Must be willing to accept accountability.
