Responsibilities: Provides stationary engineering support to the boiler plant monitoring boiler/chiller central plant continuous operation. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repair services for infrastructure (environmental control) equipment that supports the physical plant. Routine tours of various mechanical spaces to assess condition and proper function of plant to include air handling equipment, circulating pumps, and environmental controls equipment. Operation of boiler and chiller central plant to include management of chemical and water treatment programs. Annual assessments and equipment refurbishment to include motor repairs, rust protection and painting. Additionally, manage energy management automated building control system, adjusting major environmental systems as required including response to patient room/customer heating and cooling room requests. Occasionally interacts with patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly.
Qualifications: High School or vocational school graduate. Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering desired. Minimum requirement includes Maryland Grade 3 Boiler Operator License. Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in a high pressure steam boiler plant operation. Previous hospital power plant experience with automated energy management (Building Automation System) program desired. Previous rotating shift operation experience highly desired.|
