Processes textbooks for placement in the textbook rental program including maintenance of textbook rental records. Creates serial labels and applies it and others (book plate, course number, etc.) to each book. Performs physical inventory of rental textbooks at the close of every semester and prepares retail textbooks and trade books for the annual physical inventory. Cooperates with Book Department Manager and Returns Clerk to verify on hand inventory to aid in decision making of future purchases, returns and the sale/disposal of withdrawn textbook and trade book inventory. Assists Book Department Manager in adopting textbooks for each semester. Cooperates with Shipping/Receiving Supervisor and Book Department Manager to fulfill online and reservation orders.
Plans, prepares and labels shelves each semester for presentation of textbooks and trade books to facilitate selection by customers. Provides direct assistance to customers for identification and selection of books. Supervises staff directly involved in serving the public and book merchandising.
Assists faculty with the acquisition of desk copies. Reconciles books purchased from the student Buyback event against system reports of that activity.
Education & Formal Training
Associate's degree (Specify field(s) of study below), High school diploma or equivalent
Other Education & Formal Training
Business, clerical, management, or related field preferred.
One (1) year retail or inventory management experience required.
One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
